The Bowls Gisborne East Coast junior men’s and women’s teams proudly display the Waioeka Shield after defeating their Bay of Plenty counterparts at an inter-centre fixture at Whakatane.

The shield was initially presented to Bay of Plenty at the prize-giving but a recount was requested by Gisborne East Coast and the result was reversed in favour of our centre.
