Eastland Kart Club this month held their fourth points race meeting of the season, and drivers sweltered in the heat.

Racing was still hard and fast, though, club spokesman Shanan Gooch said.

Paul Farmer had a great day in his Rotax, bagging two wins and a second placing. Gooch took the last race win.

“In the first Rotax race, Ethan Rogers hit the tyres heavily and bounced back in front of Lance Sutherland,” Gooch said.

“Both karts were damaged.

“Amerillis Farmer had a fantastic battle with Dana Kingsbeer in the women’s class.

“Dana made Amerillis work hard for her three wins.”

Jay Prosser collected three wins in the rookie class after having a battle with Hamish Worsnop, who also drove well for all three races.

Another young driver not bothered by the heat was Koby Gooch. He led for much of the first junior restricted race, only to be beaten by half a tyre by Seth Iremonger.

“Seth retained his unbeaten record in this class with three wins,” Gooch said.

The Pro class had a good family battle between Nick and Joel Rogers. Joel got two wins and Nick got the other.

In the women’s KT 100, Tess Kent got her first win and Amy Whiteman had her second.

“Amy was also leading the last race before she spectacularly crashed out,” Shanan Gooch said.

“Nicola Iremonger picked up the last race win.”

Gooch said thanks were due to the volunteers who stood in the heat helping to run the meeting.
