Waikohu (1) goal defence Humaria Higgins is pictured above getting both hands on the ball ahead of Whangara Old Girls (1) goal attack Hinewaipounamu Rangihuna in a Premier Grade netball game in the YMCA.

Round 3 action continues tonight with two games — Whangara v Character Roofing YMP (2) at 6pm, followed by Horouta Koura against Gisborne Girls’ High Senior A at 7.30pm.

YMP, heavily beaten by top-of-the-table Turanga FM YMP (1) on Saturday,  face another tough day in the office against a Whangara side who nearly caused a boilover against the high-flying YMP (1) recently and beat Girls’ High last week.

YMP (2) were promoted from Premier Reserve grade so it has been a learning curve for them. They have displayed good skills at times but will need to lift to push seasoned Premier opposition such as second-placed Whangara.

Horouta and Girls’ High have shared the honours in their meetings this year.

Both sides have produced competitive performances against higher-seeded teams and will be keen to earn maximum points as they are neck and neck in the middle of the table.
