POVERTY Bay girls have continued their impressive run at the Rawleigh Trophy under-13 hockey tournament in Levin.
Poverty Bay topped their pool after a 5-0 whitewash of Taranaki — Chloe Kapene scored four goals — and a 2-0 win against Manawatu.
They followed that up yesterdaywith a 1-1 draw with Wairarapa, Elle Williams scoring the goal, and a 1-1 draw with Hawke’s Bay, Brooke Brown scoring.
The Poverty Bay boys’ team had their first loss of the Curtis Cup u13 tournament in Stratford — they lost 2-0 to Rangitikei on Tuesday — then drew 1-1 with Hawke’s Bay, William Matthews scoring.
Matthews scored again yesterday in a 2-1 loss to Wellington. The Bay bounced back from that with a 4-0 victory over Taranaki. Matthews, Noah Torrance-Cribb, Jarred Knight and Sam Gaddum scored the goals.
