Cycling

Gisborne Cycling Club events — visitors welcome.

Saturday — Club road race championships. Sign-on: 1.30pm to 1.50pm at Bushmere Arms. Start time: 2pm. Course: Lavenham Road, Patutahi quarry.

Sunday — Group ride at 8am from Avantiplus Maintrax. This is a friendly group ride for anyone wanting to ride with others. Approximate pace will be 25kmh. New cyclists welcome.

Tuesday — Club hill climb plus flying 400-metre championships. Sign-on: 5.30pm to 5.50pm at bottom of Waimata Hill. Mass-start hill climb starts at 6pm, followed by individual flying 400m. Prize-giving to follow at Bushmere Arms.

Primary hardball, Round 5, SATURDAY, 8.30am: NP 2, Mixed Schools PBCA Hardball Gold v Gisborne Intermediate Girls; NP 1, Ormond School v Mangapapa School; NP 4, Mixed Schools PBCA Hardball Blue v Sonrise School.
