Ngatapa's Antonio Walker-Leawere was awarded the Paul Sceats Player of the Year trophy at the Poverty Bay Rugby Football Union prizegiving.

The loosehead prop, and brother of Super Rugby star Isaia Walker-Leawere, had a standout season.

He quickly climbed the ranks to become the preferred pick in the No.3 jersey after making his front-row debut in the second round of this year's competition against Waikohu.

Ngatapa winger Matt Raleigh took home the best back of 2020 after a stellar season in the scarlet jersey of Poverty Bay. He was dangerous on the fringes, capitalising regularly on opposition mistakes, and his freak try against Ngati Porou East Coast was seen around the world.

Adrian Wyrill was awarded 2020's best forward after he played a critical role for premier-grade champions Waikohu this year. He also captained the Poverty Bay team, leading by example as a workhorse around the park.
