City clubs will go head to head to decide the 2023 Oligoi Jug men’s interclub pennants champions.

Electrinet Park (1) and Poverty Bay emerged triumphant from two tense matchplay semifinal clashes at Mahia on Saturday afternoon.

Defending champions Park (1) got past Te Puia Springs in a sudden-death playoff after the teams finished their top-four 2 v 3 semifinal locked 4-all.

Poverty Bay beat Patutahi 5-3 in the 2 v 4 semifinal.

Both bottom four-semifinals also needed extra holes — Tolaga Bay beating Park (2) and Patutahi (2) defeating Waikohu.

Patutahi (1) finished the seven rounds of round-robin top of the table on 48 points. Round 7 was played at Mahia on Saturday morning, with victories to Te Puia,  Poverty Bay and Patutahi (1) and a draw between Patutahi (2) and Tolaga Bay.

Top four, 1 v 4: Patutahi (1) 3 Poverty Bay 5.

2 v 3: Te Puia Springs 4 Park (1) 4. Park (1) won in sudden-death playoff.

Bottom four, 5 v 8: Park (2) 4 Tolaga Bay 4. Tolaga Bay won in sudden-death playoff.

6 v 7: Patutahi (2) 4 Waikohu 4. Patutahi (2) won in sudden-death playoff.
