GYMNASTICS by Jon Lancaster

Gisborne Gymnastics Club members made an outstanding showing at the Manawatu Open Junior Championships in Palmerston North this month.

In Step 1, Zeva Kinnaird had second placings on beam and floor, and a fourth at vault. She was third all-round, with a total score of 55.25. She scored 14.0 on vault, 14.1 on beam, and 14.150 on floor.

In Step 2, Amarah Cameron was first on uneven bars, with a score of 14.5, and second on floor, with 13.65. She was second all-round with a total of 54.033.

The Step 3 girls again took first place as a team, with a score of 165.549. Members of the team were Aria Thorpe, Celena Bull, Georgiana Elmer, and Capria Tamatea.

In the “under” division, Aria Thorpe was second on vault, with a score of 14.1, and fifth on floor, with 13.75. She was third all-round, with a score of 54.7.

In the “over” division Celena Bull was fifth on floor, with 14.0, and third on bars, with 13.633. She was fifth all-round, with 54.633.

Capria Tamatea was third on vault, with 14.1, second on bars, with 14.166, and second on floor, with 14.4. She was first all-round, with a score of 56.216.

In Step 4, Olivia Gardiner was third on beam, with 13.3.

Danielle Blair was fifth on vault, with 13.9, second on beam, with 13.6, and fourth on floor, with 13.35. She took third place all-round with a total of 53.85.

Miriam Cornfeld was second on bars, with 13.7, and fourth on beam, with 13.25. She was fourth all-round, scoring 53.05.

In Step 5, Sarah Hawkins was second on vault with a score of 13.25.
