TEN teams took part in an opening competition held by new gym Next Level Fitness Gizzy at the weekend. Three teams from Crossfit Evolution of Hawke’s Bay and two from Crossfit Rotorua joined five Gisborne teams for the event.
The aim was to get teams — composed of two menand two women — working together. Teams tackled four workouts. Activities included working in sync, running the streets, weightlifting, using a harness training device, a tug of war and treading water.
A Hawke’s Bay team won the competition, Gisborne team Teddy’s Bears were second and a Crossfit Rotorua team finished third.
