Gisborne competitors tasted medals of all colours on day 2 of the Oceans 25 junior nationals surf lifesaving carnival in Mount Maunganui on Friday.

Gold went to Noah Atkins, silver to Sam Matthews, Eli MacArthur and Brooke Williams, and bronze to Blake Taylor, Xavier Booker and MacArthur.

In pristine conditions - clean and small waves - most of the Gisborne medals came in the board race.

For the Dawson Building Midway club, Atkins won the Under-11 boys board final, Matthews was runner-up in the U14 boys and Taylor was third in the U13 boys.

For Riversun Wainui, MacArthur collected silver in the U11 boys and Booker bronze in the U12 boys.
