NORTHERN Spirit women’s team had mixed results in their three cricket matches against Central Hinds over the long weekend.
The Spirit, featuring Gisborne’s Mel Knight and Hamilton-based Kerry Tomlinson, formerly of Gisborne, won the Twenty20 clash and one of the one-day matches, but lost the other.
Knight was 12th womanfor two of the games but played in the second one-dayer at Nelson Park in Napier. She finished not out on two as the Spirit were dismissed for 126 — Tomlinson making nine — and lost by six wickets.
The Spirit smashed 182-2 in the Twenty20 game, then restricted the Hinds to 143-8.
They also won the first one-day clash comfortably, chasing down 206 in 40 overs to win by six wickets.
