Midway trio in Black Fins squad for world champs

THREE Midway club members have been named in the New Zealand Black Fins team for the 2018 Lifesaving World Championships in Adelaide in November.

Cory Taylor, Chris Dawson and Olivia Corrin are in the 12-strong team coached by Jason Pocock.

The final selection followed a successful camp in Australia’s Gold Coast where the athletes took part in a multitude of events and drills to show.

Black Fins Coach Jason Pocock said they were confident they had a combination of athletes to give New Zealand the best shot of being successful.

“The team will be quite different to previous years and with these new athletes comes a huge amount of enthusiasm. We will be working hard over the next four months to ensure we are in the best possible position come November,” he said.
