A near-perfect record was too good to be matched in the race for the Gisborne Super League intermediate football title.

KT Orthodontics City had eight wins and one loss to finish one point ahead of nearest rivals Frank & Albie's Rovers.

City scored 46 goals and conceded 24 on their way to the title.

Aaliyah Lardelli, Zoe Newman and Gloria Donaldson held the line and protected the goal with determination, showing they are up-and-coming talents.

Up front, Salem Randall was a deadly goalscorer, with vital help from midfielders Zayden Gisby-Gooch, Korbin Wigglesworth, Rio Knight and Matai Thorpe, who would set him up to shoot for goal or have a go themselves.

Jayden Goldsmith was excellent in goal, and Reef Hillman, Billy Frain, Robbie Newlands and Curtis Wylie showed their versatility and all-round skills throughout the season.

Key to the success of the team was the coaching of Breeze Parsons, who put a lot into helping and being there for them.
