GISBORNE golfer Tessa McDonald was beaten on the 18th hole as Hawke’s Bay-Poverty Bay halved with Otago at the national women’s interprovincial tournament in Napier this morning.

McDonald, playing No.1 for Hawke’s Bay-Poverty Bay, lost 1-down to Sumin Kangi at the Maraenui course. The matchplay tie was shared 2½-all. For HBPB, No.3 Claire Choi won 1-up and No.5 Fiona Ellis won 6 and 5. No.2 Janie Field halved her match.
