Mangapapa School’s Reef Mullooly tries his best to get through two Te Wharau School defenders during the Trish Hina Interschool Rugby League Tournament at Waikirikiri Park yesterday.  The focus of the tournament was on participation and sportsmanship. Points were awarded to teams in such areas as  best and fairest, as well as for scoring tries, and these contributed to an overall total. Mangapapa 2 won  the boys’ division with 23 out of a maximum 30 points. The girls’ division was a tie between Mangapapa 1 and Muriwai — both on 18 points. Full story to follow.
