'Love Tennis' set for Sunday, but what's all the racket about?

Gisborne Tennis Club is joining more than 150 tennis clubs across New Zealand for the annual Love Tennis national open weekend on Sunday.

Tennis NZ chief executive Julie Paterson says tennis is a sport for everyone and Love Tennis Weekend is the perfect time to find out more about what your local club can offer.

“It's heaps of fun, no experience is necessary and it's 100 percent free,” she said.

Gisborne Tennis Club president Nigel Henare encourages everyone to get down to the club.

“We've got a free barbecue, skills and drills with our local coaches, games for the kids, and lots of giveaways, including vouchers from sponsors Rebel Sport.

“Whether you're a beginner or you used to play tennis, the club would love to host you.”

The club would supply rackets and all those attending could enter the major prize draw for a trip for two to the ASB Tennis Classic in Auckland.
