• Ashlay Grant, a 2015 gold medallist and golden gloves champion with a 15-0 record, who won the cadet male 57kg division and received the award for top cadet boxer of the 2016 nationals.
• Mya Kahukoti, a 2015 gold medallist who won silver in the female cadet 48kg division.
• Carlos Hihi, a first-time nationals entrant with five previous bouts, who gained third ranking in the cadet male 40kg division.
• Raukawa Kahukot i, a 2014 and 2015 silver medallist who earned a third ranking in the junior 60kg division.
• Tawhiri Toheriri, 2014 and 2015 silver medallist who earned a third ranking in the junior 57kg category.

• Chedyn Beach, a 2014 gold medallist who earned a third ranking in the 75kg male youth division.
“All seven boxers fought well and represented their families, region and clubs with honour,” Jim Kahukoti said.
“As coaches, we couldn’t be more proud. They train hard and deserve their rankings.
“All boxers placed in the top three in their divisions and may be selected for New Zealand development teams for youth worlds and junior Olympic squads.”
He thanked Next Level Fitness for the help with training leading up to the nationals, Billy and Maude Babington for their support, and team manager Lauretta Winitana, whose behind-the-scenes efforts helped the boxers attend as many tournaments as possible.
After a short break, team members will focus on the 2016 Golden Gloves, taking place in Taupo in October.
