FATHER-and-son sidecar duo Deane and Rob Miller will ride again together this weekend in a one-off comeback at the Rosebank track in Auckland.

The pair ended their nine-year racing career together with victory in the Auckland championships at Rosebank Raceway in April last year.

It was the fourth year in a row they had taken the Auckland title.

“It was good to go out with a bang,” Rob Miller said at the time.

Miller senior retired from full competition after that meeting and Rob successfully teamed up with new swinger Hamish White last summer.

“Dad and I decided to have a crack at the King of Rosebank title next Sunday,” he said.

“It’s one title we have never won.”

Miller senior will be doing the driving.

“We can’t wait to race together again,” Rob said.

“But it’s definitely only going to be a one-off.”

The pair are previous New Zealand, North Island and New Zealand Grand Prix champions.

“We won’t be racing on our own this weekend,” Miller said.

“My new swinger Hamish will team up with Steve Krynicki who is now from Gisborne, and Callum Innes is going to ride with Troy Devery from Hawke’s Bay.”

The meeting is on Sunday to kick off the speedway season at Rosebank.
