Gisborne cricketer Kayley Knight is one of 11 players confirmed in the Northern Districts women’s programme as part of the historic first round of domestic contracts.
This year Northern Districts brought in a new master agreement that had increased resourcing of the domestic game as a key focus.
Under thefive-year deal, the number of domestic women’s contracts increased from nine to 12 and women would receive the same match fees as men across all formats and competitions.
Knight, daughter of Al and Mel Knight, was the Northern Districts young player of the year last season.
