Honours shared by GBHS age-groupers

The rugby relationship between Gisborne Boys’ High School and Hastings Akina is a hugely important one.

The Gisborne BHS under-15s beat Hastings 24-15, with Akina winning the u14s clash 25-5 at HBHS on Friday.

In the u15s match, Jimmy Tufunga, Leaasi Tupou and Maddy Symes scored tries, with Olly MacKintosh landing two conversions.

U15s coach Mark Jefferson

said: “It was a great game, end-to-end rugby, lots of skill, with short little

tips-on from the forwards.

“The backs ran hard, straight and developed mismatches.”

• The GBHS u14s’ sole try-scorer was promising right-wing Rori Fukushima Hall.
