Tayler Reid won The Gisborne Herald quarter-marathon at Marina Park on Sunday. Reid completed the 10.65 kilometres in 36 minutes 30 seconds to win the open title. Second across the line was 40-49 years age group winner Steve Morrow in 37:11, followed by teenager Josiah Ney (38:40), who won the 16yrs and under division.

First woman was Ney's mother Kate, who won the 40-49yrs division in 44:00. Gisborne Intermediate student Briana Irving was second, and winner of the 12yrs and under division in 45:23. Open division winner Hannah Overbye was third in 47:01.
