New Zealand were able to gain possession of the disc after the Germans failed to successfully execute a big play in a bid to take the match.

New Zealand showed great patience in walking the disc back up the field and scoring the point needed to win.

The Kahu coaches were pleased with the result and the spirit shown by the players against high-quality opposition in 30-degree heat.
