Hawke’s Bay trip for super vets

Eastland travel to Hawke’s Bay this weekend for the third round of the 2018 inter-association super veterans’ Division 2 badminton competition.

The games will be played at the Meeanee Indoor Sports Centre near Napier tomorrow.

After four ties, Eastland are in sixth place in the nine-team competition.

Tomorrow they play top-placed Waitakere (4) in the morning and seventh-placed Hawke’s Bay later in the day.

Eastland team members are Helen Morley, from Gisborne Badminton Club; Ron Prebble, Bruce Ledger, Linda White, Annabelle Riwaka and Ruth Ledger, from the Patutahi club; and loan players Matheus Batlajeri, from Manawatu, and Ivor Holland, from Thames Valley,

Kevin Lee is unavailable to travel this weekend.

The team hope to hold their own tomorrow and do enough to remain in sixth position.
