Harbour sink PBEC at Freyberg Masters

North Harbour proved too good for Poverty Bay-East Coast in Round 6 of the Freyberg Masters men's golf interprovincial this morning.

PBEC went down 4-1 at the over-40s matchplay tournament being played at the Motueka course.

Auckland-based David Solomann saved the whitewash. Playing at No.4, Solomann beat Stephen O'Reilly 1-up.

The other results were comfortable wins to Harbour.

PBEC No.1 Anaru Reedy lost 4 and 3 to Ben Westgate; No.2 Dwayne Russell lost 5 and 4 to Scott Robertson; No.3 Tony Akroyd's win streak was ended 3 and 2 by Cam Emett; and No.5 Jace Brown was beaten 3 and 2 by Dell Bain.

PBEC, who went into the round sitting 11th on the 15-province table, faced Bay of Plenty in the afternoon round.
