GISBORNE streetstock racer Cody Gooch maintained his consistent form at the weekend when he finished third-equal in a hard fought Hawke’s Bay Championship meet at Meeanee Raceway.
Gooch finished between drivers from Hawke’s Bay and Rotorua, and equal on the podium with another Hawke’s Bay driver.
The Gisborne Gladiators turned
the tables on the Meeanee Maulers in the stock car teams’ event and won their rematch from the previous weekend in Gisborne.
Mason O’Dwyer (99G) was last man standing for the Gladiators, so it was three-on-one in the final stages of the race. But he charged across the line first to win it for his team.
