Six-time Kahlenberg Cup women's pairs champion Gay Young clearly wants a seventh.

Young and her latest partner Faye Allen were second in best-ball stableford qualifying this week.

Their 42 points was beaten only by Kirsty Shaw and Fay Pell who grabbed the No.1 seeding with 44 points — Shaw's 96-24-72 anchoring the score.

Two pairs had 40 points — Maxine Francois and Pen Wanklyn, and Sally Spence and Vicki Fraser.

Young and Wanklyn won the 2021 final.

The Lucy May and Bays Bronze representative women's exchange between Poverty Bay and Hawke's Bay is at the Poverty Bay course on Monday.

WESTPAC (1) was their name but it was simply a cover as Electrinet Park members infiltrated Poverty Bay's stronghold and stole the honours in the Eastland Rescue Helicopter Trust Charity Golf Tournament on Friday.

Twenty-eight teams enjoyed 18 holes of the forgiving ambrose format and in the process helped raise $10,500 for a worthy cause.

The Westpac team of Derek Craven, father and son Danny and Zane Boyle and Luke Hayes — all members of the Park course — found the Bay to their liking.

They returned net 55.87 to win the men's division.

Biting at their heels were the AMFs crew of Collin Jeffrey, Simon Jeune, Jason Phillips and Chris Taewa who had 11 birdies — thanks to some escape artist skill on the greens — for a net 56.62.

The Draggnett (1) side of Dave Raggett, Martin “Dream” Weaver, Neil Hansen and Thom Berry were third on 56.87.

Cedenco have a history of success at ambrose events and added to that by winning the mixed division. Tony Akroyd, Di Webb, Nick Greeks and Wayne Carpendale returned 58.87.

Goldie Hawn, Bette Midler and Diane Keaton were not spotted among The First Wives Club team who won the women's division. The four “stars” of this golfing version were Rachel Matthews, Kohe Gillies, Meg Gavin and Lucy Gibson.

The shot of the day came from multi-talented Ethine Reeves for one of the two Poverty Bay Rugby Football Union teams. Reeves' pitching wedge-hit ball off the sixth tee landed just past the hole on the full and spun back to within six inches of the cup.
