Poverty Bay member Dirk Bullivant rode to the premier title in the Fiordland Lobster Company Mahia men's two-day open tournament over the weekend.

The E motorscooter-riding Bullivant totalled 140 (73, 67) to win the overall 36-hole net.

John Aitchision won the Charlie Austin Trophy for the best local performer.

Kawerau's Tuakana August posted the lowest gross total — 153 — but the nets are the main prizes so won the senior 35-hole net with 145.

The senior gross went to home-course player Peter Bremner (158), who this year won his 20th senior club championship crown — a feat he was unaware he had achieved.
