It had end-to-end play, and he felt GMC were “very lucky? to take the three points.
“Paikea are really starting to find some form now,” he said.
Scragg said the THC-LOB A game lived up to expectations.
“THC were made to work for the result . . . it was 1-1 at halftime,” he said.
“They created more scoring chances and it was only good defence from LOB A that kept the score down.”
A good winBen Holden Fencing Ngatapa had a good 5-0 win against YMP B in the women’s competition.
“It was a game of two halves,” Scragg said.
“The Ngatapa girls led 5-0 at halftime but the YMP B defence was outstanding in the second half and kept them from adding to their score.
“Well done to YMP B. That was a good effort.”
GMC Gold had their first win of the season, 2-0 against Te Aowera.
“That was great to see,” Scragg said.
“It was even in the first half, and it was nil-nil at halftime.
“But the Gold side came through in the second period and scored twice to take a deserved win.”
