Gisborne trio in Super squads

Three Gisborne women have been selected in squads for the first season of women's Super Rugby, in 2022.

Newly-minted Black Fern Renee Holmes will move south after playing two seasons with Waikato's Farah Palmer Cup (FPC) team to join the Crusaders outfit.

Her Black Ferns teammate, hooker Te Kura Ngata-Aerengamate, has been named in the Auckland Blues squad.

Former Manawatu No.8 Kaipo Olsen-Baker has been named in the Hurricanes squad.

Although she played in the first women's Super Rugby game, winger Kelsey Teneti was not named in a squad for the upcoming season.

Seasoned international Charmaine McMenamin missed out on the Black Ferns northern tour because of injury and has not been named in a squad.

After playing a season with Waikato in the FPC, Gabby Wainohu was not named in a squad.

The clubs each named squads of 28 players, with final line-ups to be announced by December 1.
