Gisborne-East Coast men’s and women’s teams are in Christchurch competing in the national intercentre bowls tournament that finishes on Sunday. Play started yesterday at clubs throughout Canterbury.

Men: Shaun Goldsbury, Malcolm Trowell, Steve Goldsbury, Boon McIlroy and Geoff Pinn (Gisborne Bowling Club), Paddy Stewart (Te Karaka), Steve Berezowski (Poverty Bay), Marcus Merrick (Tolaga Bay). Manager: Tim Sherriff.

Women: Dayvinia Mills (Kahutia), Jessie Davis-Law and Joy Davis (Poverty Bay), Jasmine Merrick (Te Karaka), Glenda Kapene (Wairoa), Tanya Harrison, Dianne Phillips and Carol Hawes (Gisborne). Manager: Anita Vaotuua. Selector: Bobbie Beattie.
