Gisborne have continued to battle hard at the NZ Open netball championships in Dunedin.

The Ingrid Brown-coached Gisborne team were beaten 40-34 by Taranaki in their final Pool D game at the Edgar Centre.

It followed losses to Counties Manukau Cluster, Canterbury Red and Howick Pakuranga and placed them bottom of their five-team pool.

That put Gisborne into A round-robin to decide the bottom three of the 19 competing districts. A Dunedin Development team were added to the round-robin to make it four teams.

Gisborne faced the Dunedin team at 5.30pm yesterday.
