Local showjumping and showhunter riders got their first competition under their belts at the Eastern Bay Showjumping and Showhunter event at Te Teko Racecourse on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Isobel Jayne Bevitt, riding Kaycee Montego, was placed third in the Category B introductory pony class; riding Where’s Wally, she was first in Category A high points 70cm and third in the handy hunter.

Isobel’s brother Oliver, riding Hot Ice, was second in the Category B introductory pony.

Amelia Samuels, on Snoopy, was second in the Category A introductory pony, third in the Category A 60cm, first in the Category A 70cm and third in the Category A high points.

Amelia Paull, on Envious Edition, was fourth in the mini grand prix, fourth in the 1.15m-1.20m class and sixth in the pony welcome stakes. Riding Platinum Playboy, she was fourth in the 1m pony class.

Lucy Bond and Cavatina were fifth in the horse welcome stakes 1.15m-1.20m, fifth in the amateur rider and first in the 1.10m.

After a break from competing, Larina Dolman was back in the winners’ circle, she was fifth on Kiwi Lansing in the 1.25m horse showjumping.
