Jennings had a birdie-2 for three on the second hole and four three-pointers on holes where Foon had two or less.
Their only blemish was the 11th, where both had a point.
The pair will look to reproduce that sort of teamwork this Saturday in the first round of matchplay. They face Larry Foster and Robin Wells, who snatched the 32nd and bottom qualifying spot with 37 points.
Defending champions Mark Norman and Dave Jenkins comfortably qualified with 43 points and play Dave Pirimona and Stefan Andreassen in the opening round.
Among the pairs to watch are Tene Goldsmith and Glenn Burnside, who were eighth qualifiers. Goldsmith went out the next day and fired 74-9-65, for 43 points, off the white tees to win the division 1 men’s stableford.
Club professional/manager Dave Keown made special mention of the “aeroplane” scoring over the final three holes of BG qualifying . . . 767 being among the more common.
Faye Allen capped her return to 18-hole golf this year with victory in the Oman Cup women’s matchplay yesterday.
Allen, having played 9-hole golf for several seasons, defeated Sue Kemp (31) 2-up in the final.
The 29-handicapper booked a final berth with a win over Vicki Fraser in the semifinals while Kemp, off 31, knocked out Margaret Williams.
Anaru Reedy’s hot form continued on Tuesday with his five sub-par score in the past three weeks. Reedy had seven birdies in a 6-under 66. He is 13-under for his last five rounds, including 24 birdies.
The Gay Young-Basil Payne combination has reaped another piece of silverware — the Captain’s Cup. Young and Payne won the American foursomes net title with a 36-hole total of 133, three ahead of Teresa Lewis and Richard Foon. They added it to their Morley Cup win in March.

Twenty-eight players competed in the pairs format, comprising nine holes of best-ball net, nine holes of Canadian foursomes and nine of ambrose.
A fresh southerly tested the field but the weather was fine until the last five holes when the heavens opened up.
Home-course pair Fairlane Wesche and Ngapera McRoberts were convincing overall winners. Their joint forces produced net 99, well clear of Poverty Bay/Mahia combo MJ Bloem and Maria Wesche on 104.5 and third-placed Gisborne Park duo Mihi Marino and Jean Foot on 104.75.
