Tony Green won the men’s senior division of the club day on Sunday with a net 67. Next were Hukanui Brown and Matt Stock, both on 69.

Lorraine Haisman won the women’s section, with a net 70, and had a two.

Junior men (15-plus handicap) were led by Hamish Harris, with a net 68, followed by Mike De Luze, 72, and Pete Johnston, 73.

FRIDAY — Meat pack nine-hole stableford, senior division: T Green 22, J Brodie 22, A Higham 22, P Johnston 21, T Brodie 20.

Junior division: T Berry 26, B Williams 22, I Tietjen 20, C Newman 19, C Brown 18.

Tolaga Bay

Jerry Murphy has won the Reeves Cup for a second time.

Contested over three rounds, the best two counting, the Reeves Cup is a net competition played annually at Tolaga Bay.

Murphy won the cup for the first time “about two years ago”.

His best two rounds were net 65 and 66, for a total of 131, which put him one shot ahead of Neil Hansen and Matt Jefferd.

Men’s medal: M Grant 65, J Murphy 66, T Higgs 66, J Hale 67, N Hansen 68, Tere Lincoln 69.

Mahia

THEY’RE not silly at Mahia. A four-ball best-ball competition for the men was reduced to nine holes when the weather turned bitterly cold on Sunday.

Wayne Wesche and Wade Wesche finished at the front of the pack with a net 27. After them came Ian Fraser and Kevin Symes with 28, Chris Pitman and Colleen Wesche with 29, and Peter Bremner and Bruce Maher with 33.

Next Sunday, the men have the third round of the Presidents.
