Gisborne Cycling Club events — visitors welcome.

Saturday — Club ride (no racing) starting at 1.30pm from Taruheru Cemetery, Nelson Road.

Sunday — Group ride at 8am from Avantiplus Maintrax. This is a friendly group ride for anyone wanting to ride with others. Approximate pace will be 25 kilometres an hour. New cyclists welcome.

Tuesday — Twilight Series Race 3: Sign-on is from 5.30pm to 5.50pm at Kirkpatrick Road (north). Race starts at 6pm.

Marshals: Patrick Ney, Stephen Sheldrake.

Handicap race: Waingake/Brunton (32km).

Softball

THE Reid Reihana Memorial Tournament for men and the Raima and Stan Boyd Memorial Tournament for women will be played at Waikirikiri Park on Saturday. The format will be round robin and games will last five innings or 75 minutes. The draw is —

Men — Reid Reihana tournament

9am: GMC v Rams.

10.30am: GMC v Scorpions.

Final — 3pm: Rank 1 v 2.

Women — Raima and Stan Boyd tournament

9am: Rovers v Cheese Supreme.

10.30am: Cheese Supreme v U13 Invitation.

12 midday: U13 Invitation v Rovers.

Final — 1.30pm: Rank 1 v 2.
