GISBORNE teen Tuteari Te Rauna-Lamont arrived home last week from competing at the 2017 Reebok Crossfit Games in Madison, Wisconsin.

He brought home with him a top-10 placing as one the fittest teens on the planet for his division, 14-15-year boys.

Tuteari has whakapapa to Te Aitanga-a-Mahaki, Rongowhakaata, Ngati Porou, Te Whanau-a-Apanui, Ngati Kahungunu and Ngai Tuhoe, and he acknowledged it had been a privilege to represent his whanau, hapu, iwi and community on the international stage.

His whanau are proud of his efforts and Tuteari is aiming high for 2018.

“The goal for next year is to qualify again, and all of the whanau can come.”
