Gisborne cricketer Kayley Knight dismissed both Canterbury Magicians openers cheaply in a Hallyburton Johstone Shield women’s one-day cricket match at Cobham Oval, Whangarei, yesterday.
In the second over of the game, Knight bowled Canterbury skipper Frances (Frankie) Mackay with her first ball, for 1. With the second-last ball of hernext over, she bowled Emma Kench, for 5.
Knight took 2-29 off five overs. Then batting at No.11, she scored 2 not out in the ND total of 214, which was 35 runs short of the Canterbury total. Canterbury lead the competition with four wins from four games.
On Saturday against the same opponents, Knight took 2-25 off five overs, bowling Kench for 11 and having Kate Ebrahim caught for 14. Canterbury won this game by 84 runs.
