GISBORNE Girls' High School Senior A have the chance to cause another big upset in the first round of the netball competition when they take on Waikohu (1) tomorrow.

The students will be buoyed by their emphatic win against Whangara Old Girls at the YMCA on Wednesday night.

Gillies Electrical GGHS Senior A played well in that match and their confidence will have grown.

The Claydens Waikohu (1) links are developing well through the court. But while they won on Wednesday night, they had a tussle on their hands.

If the students can bring the competitive game they produced when they beat Whangara 37-28 on Wednesday, this will be a close one.

The match tomorrow gets under way at 9.30am at Victoria Domain.

The second premier fixture tomorrow pits YMP (1) against JT Contractors Horouta Gold.

YMP have been playing strong netball and are unbeaten. They have been doing it by working together on attack and defence, performing as a team.

Horouta Gold worked hard on Wednesday night to stay competitive in their game against Waikohu (1).

They lost by only five goals, and won both the third and fourth quarters.

But Horouta will need to work together for the full game if they want to beat YMP (1).

The match gets under way at 11.30am.

Grading has been finalised for the intermediate and secondary grades and they start their first competition games tomorrow.

The futureFERNS continue their play and the seniors complete their Round 1 games tomorrow.

The Victoria Domain courts will be busy. Games start at 8.30am and the teams in the last round go on to the courts at 2.30pm.
