FORMER Gisborne Boys’ High first 15 player Jamison Gibson-Park has been called into the Irish rugby squad for the rest of the postponed Six Nations championship.
The ex-Maori All Blacks and Blues and Hurricanes halfback is one of six uncapped players named by coach Andy Farrell in a 35-man squad.
Now in his fifth season with Leinster, Gibson-Park is eligible for Ireland through the residency rule.
Any test cap is likely to be from the bench as Conor Murray is a certain starter.
Ireland face Italy in Dublin on October 24, then France in Paris the following week to complete the Six Nations.
Another Kiwi, Bundee Aki, is also in the Ireland squad, along with former Chiefs winger James Lowe, who becomes eligible through residency in November.
