Gisborne Boys’ High old boy Jamison Gibson-Park sends the ball away during Ireland’s test match against England at Aviva Stadium in Dublin. Gibson-Park had a strong game as the Irish beat England 29-10 in a clash highlighted by an acrobatic try to winger Keith Earls in his 100th test and
lowlighted by a red card to England No.8 Billy Vunipola for a shoulder to the head of prop Andrew Porter in the 53rd minute. Vunipola’s red — upgraded from a yellow by the bunker review system — has put him in danger of missing the start of the Rugby World Cup in a similar scenario to captain Owen Farrell who was sent off for a similar offence against Wales the week before. Farrell’s red was later overturned by a judicial committee only for World Rugby to appeal that decision. Ireland’s final warm-up for the cup is against Samoa this weekend while England host Fiji at Twickenham. The All Blacks complete their preparations with a London test against South Africa (Saturday morning NZ time), who go in hot from their 52-16 demolition of Wales. France, who face the All Blacks in the cup opener, host Australia in Paris on Monday morning.
