Poverty Bay-East Coast (PBEC) teed off their 2021 Freyberg Masters men’s interprovincial golf campaign this morning.
PBEC faced Waikato in Round 1 of the week-long matchplay event being held on the Paraparaumu Beach course near Wellington.
Only 13 of the country’s 15 golfing provinces are competing. Auckland and North Harbourare unable to play due to Covid-19 restrictions.
PBEC play defending champions Bay of Plenty this afternoon, followed by Taranaki and Otago tomorrow, Northland on Wednesday, Canterbury and Tasman on Thursday and Aorangi on Friday.
The PBEC team members are Anaru Reedy, Simon Jeune, Dwayne Russell, Tony Akroyd, Selwyn Peneha and Jace Brown.
