Gisborne finished fourth in their pool at the Netball New Zealand Open Championships in Palmerston North.

That put them in the ninth-to-16th playoff group in the 20-team tournament.

Yesterday evening Gisborne lost to Cambridge, 50-26, which put them in the 13th-to-16th section.

They were to play Dunedin at 2.30pm today. A win would take them to the 13th/14th final tomorrow; a loss to the 15th/16th final.

Depending on today's results, Gisborne will play either Taranaki or Rotorua tomorrow in their last game of the tournament.

Against Cambridge yesterday, Gisborne started well and the first quarter was close.

Cambridge played with a tight, close-marking defence throughout the court. This stopped Gisborne's flow of ball and created turnovers.

The Cambridge attackers were quick to capitalise on turnover ball.

For Gisborne, wing attack Grace Tuhuri played well, She was quick to collect the centre pass, drove to the top of the goal circle and delivered some very good passes to the shooters.
