POVERTY Bay cricketers Courtney Hayes, Tayla Hollis, Lucy McHugh and Phoebe Taylor have been named in a 13-strong Northern Districts under-18 squad to compete in an invitational tournament in Papakura next week.

Cricket Wellington, Northern Districts Cricket and Auckland Cricket have developed the unofficial four-day tournament to give their young female players game experience at a high level.

It will be held at Bruce Pulman Park, Papakura, from Monday to Thursday.

Auckland will have two teams in the tournament, and Northern Districts and Wellington will have one team each.

The teams will play a mixture of Twenty20 and 50-over matches.

Northern Districts teams for the tournament will be chosen from: Oliva Lobb (captain), Brooke Golightly, Tia Saunders (all Northland), Macy Adams, Nensi Patel, Brianna Perry, Taneika Uerata (all Bay of Plenty), Hannah Bree (Hamilton), Courtney Hayes, Tayla Hollis, Lucy McHugh, Phoebe Taylor (all Poverty Bay) and Emma Parker (Waikato Valley).
