LAST night’s opening games in the eighth round of the Poverty Bay hockey competition went according to the form book, with wins to LOB A and YMP (1).
LOB Masters were beaten 5-0 by the club’s top team on the LJ Hooker turf last night.
“The Masters were down only
1-0 at halftime after a solid defensive effort for the first 30 minutes,” commentator Tony Scragg said.
In the other match, YMP A returned to their high-scoring ways with a 10-1 win against Gisborne Boys’ High School.
“James Torrie scored eight of the YMP goals in a fantastic performance,” Scragg said.
