GISBORNE Boys’ High School hockey side enjoyed their first win in the competition this season on the LJ Hooker turf last night. The students defeated Lytton Old Boys Masters 4-2.
“They led 2-0 at half time, we tied it up at 2-2 early in the second period but they scored
two more to win it,” said commentator and one of the Masters' goalscorers, Tony Scragg.
“Boys’ High were so much improved on the last time we played them.”
In the other game last night, YMP A outclassed GMC Kowhai 9-0 in the women’s competition.
“That’s a much bigger margin than was anticipated,” Scragg said. “It just goes to show again how good the YMP women are this season.”
