BADMINTON

Eastland masters will play their final round of the inter-association season at Gisborne’s Badminton Centre in Childers Road tomorrow.

They will host Wellington (2), Horowhenua Kapiti (1), Horowhenua Kapiti (2) and Bay of Plenty (2).

Eastland are placed fourth out of nine teams and will play Horowhenua Kapiti (1), who are ranked third and Horowhenua Kapiti (2), who are ranked ninth.

The Eastland players are: David Colbert, Justin Kent, Debbie Brown (manager), Adrianne McLeod, Gabrielle Perano and Victoria West, all from Gisborne Badminton Club; and two players from Taranaki, Chris Popata and Tony Rutherford.

Making their debut as reserves are Steven Kent, who has not played representative badminton before, and Ruth Ledger, who plays for Eastland’s super vets team.

Annabelle Riwaka, who also plays for the super vets team, will play for Horowhenua-Kapiti (2).

Mark Beard and Makuini Winiata are unavailable for the weekend.

Eastland will be playing at 8.30am and about 2pm.

Spectators are welcome.
