Some fantastic games are on the cards at Victoria Domain tomorrow as the Pak’nSave senior competition culminates with finals day through the grades.

All of the games will be rematches of the initial semifinals played on August 3.

“All of the teams who went to the second lot of semifinals from those games were victorious and advanced to the final and the chance for redemption,” said Gisborne Netball Centre manager Allisa Hall.

The A Grade final features IMS HSOG Masters against Claydens Waikohu Masters.

“The Masters finished the competition rounds in top place but HSOG pipped them 30-28 in the semifinal to advance directly.

“Waikohu had a dominant 40-22 win over Tatapouri Sportsfit last weekend to confirm their finals spot,” Hall said.

“After finishing runners-up in 2018, HSOG will be wanting to reclaim the winners’ trophy, however, A-Grade newcomers Waikohu will not make it easy for them.”

“This is going to be an exciting contest for the Stoneham Cup at 10.30am.”

In A Reserve, YMP Masters booked their finals place in the first semifinal with a 35-27 win over Whalis, leaving Whalis to compete again for a final berth against YMP TimberPro.

Whalis were too strong — winning 34-22.

“These teams always provide a good game and after their Round 3 match ended in a draw, this will be a case of who wants it most and treasures possession,” Hall said.

A Reserve teams play for the Pat Tamatea Cup from 9.30am.

“The 1st Grade contest will be a thriller.

“Gisborne Glass Ngatapa had a one-goal win over Gisborne Denture Clinic HSOG in the semis to be the first to lock in a place in the final.

HSOG had a close semi against Thistle Storm last weekend, winning 31-27.

“These teams had a win apiece over each other in rounds 2 and 3, so with not much separating them throughout the season, this is expected to go down to the wire,” Hall said.

The 1st Grade final for the Tait Family Cup is at 9.30am.

Whatatutu booked themselves a place in the 1st Reserve Grade final with a 30-22 win over Uawa Ngarangikahiwa in the opening semi.

“The Uawa girls were determined to be in the final and had a 27-22 win over Steve Craill Builder Ngatapa last weekend.

“Uawa won both encounters with Whatatutu during the competition rounds but the semifinal win would have given them a confidence boost,” Hall said.

“We are anticipating another close game for the Umpires 50th Jubilee Cup from 10.30am,” said Hall.

In Second Grade, Sportsfit Magnolias advanced directly to the final with a 27-14 win over Uawa Iranui.

“The Uawa ladies faced YMP Manawanui last weekend in the second semi and won 27-20,” Hall said.

“With Sportsfit and Uawa tipping up each other up during the season, this is again going to be an exciting contest for the PB Teachers Cup from 9.30am.”

Prize-giving will follow as soon as possible after the completion of the 10.30am round — approximately 11.30am.
