Mixed results continued last week in the third night of BIZminton 2023, the business house badminton league.

In the competitive grade, Cuzzys continued their winning form, defeating Mixed Combo four matches to two, while Unknowns remain at the top of the leader board.

In the social grade, two ties were level on games, 3-3, and needed a countback on points to separate the teams.

HDUBZ (without their team uniform) defeated 4TEEN 172 points to 131, while Asure Quality defeated Stanley Family by nine points.

Social-grade teams have been playing round-robin competition in pools.

In Pool A, Woolie Jumpers were first, Slammers were second,    Happy Go Lucky were third and Turanga Health were fourth.

In Pool B, Asure Quality were first, Stanley Family were second, HDUBZ were third and 4TEEN were fourth.

Teams move into playoffs for the last two weeks. The first round starts at 6pm; courts will be opened by 5.45pm. The second round starts at 7.15pm.

Results

Social grade: Woolie Jumpers defeated Slammers, 4-2; Happy Go Lucky def Turanga Health, 4-2; HDUBZ def 4TEEN, 3-3, 172 points to 131; Asure Quality def Stanley Family, 3-3, 151pts to 142.

Competitive grade: Unknowns def RSL51s, 6-0; 3+1 def WSP, 3-2, one match drawn; Cuzzys def Mixed Combo 4-2.

Draw for THURSDAY — 6pm: Court 1, Woolie Jumpers v Stanley Family; C2, Slammers v Asure Quality; C3, 4TEEN v Happy Go Lucky; C4, HBUDZ v Turanga Health.

7.15pm: C1, Unknowns v Mixed Combo; C2 and C3, 3+1 v RSL51s; C4, WSP v Cuzzys.

Duty team: Mixed Combo (to sweep courts at the end of the night).
