GisborneThe rain stayed away just long enough to allow a result in the Hilton Croskery Triples at Gisborne Bowling Club last week.
One round and four ends in a second were completed before a downpour sent the 30 bowlers scurrying for cover and it was decided there had been enough
play to settle on a result.
Two teams had two wins apiece, so the title was decided on differential. Carol Hawes (skip), Don Green and Peter Clay, with a differential of plus 20, finished ahead of Brian Cairns (s), Bruce Easton and Terry Casey, on plus 16.
A win and a draw secured third place for Ted Mehrtens (s), Harry Jackson and Stephen Ward.
