SWIMMING

THIRTY points separated the top three clubs at the Hawke’s Bay-Poverty Bay winter swimming championships in Hastings.

Gisborne’s Enterprise Swim Club and Comet Swim Club finished a close first and second respectively, ahead of the Napier Aquahawks team.

Comet won a total of seven team trophies — more than any other team. The club was named top junior club and achieved a club record of six team relay trophies.

Age-group winners were Ariana Kepa for nine-year-old females and Jodiesha Kirkpatrick for 12-year-old females.

Jodiesha set a HBPB record for the 12yr girls’ 50-metre breaststroke — 35.94 seconds.

Winning relay teams —10/under male medley: Harper Bailey, Te Maumahara Hape, Obe Chaffey, AJ Kinsella.

12/under female medley: Aria Harrison, Jodiesha Kirkpatrick, Imogen Amor-Bendall, Kaylah Reynolds.

Holly Fisher: 15yr girls’ 1500 FR (2005).

Emma Niven: 16yr girls’ 1500 FR (2000).
